The [Theodore Roosevelt Nature and History Association](http://trnha.org/) (TRNHA) is a non-profit organization that was established to provide support to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, as well as the Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site and the Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge, both of which are also in North Dakota. The TRNHA works closely with the park administration. The group runs the bookstores found in the South Unit Visitor Center, the North Unit Visitor Center, and the Painted Canyon Visitor Center, and volunteer members assist as visitor service clerks. The association publishes free trail guides and brochures, and sponsors some events as well. Their funding also supports wildlife research and internship programs.
