Bicycling
Bicycling is allowed on all roads within the park.
Plan Around Bicycling
A good stop is not just something to read about. Once it belongs on the day, move into a saved trip and build the route around it.
Use this detail page to confirm that the stop is worth it, then carry that decision into a trip draft while the park context is still fresh.
Bicycling Details
Bicycling is allowed in the park as long as you stay on the paved or dirt roads. Off-road biking and cycling on marked trails are not permitted. Keep in mind that you will be sharing the road with cars, RVs, and wildlife, and some portions of the road are narrow and lack shoulders. The busiest traffic months are June, July, August, and September. Bicyclists must follow all traffic laws. If you are bicycling during the off-season, check with the visitor center for current road conditions and closures. Services are very limited within the park, including phone service, and all cyclists should be prepared with appropriate water, food, and clothing in all seasons.
