Waterfalls Details
The park contains more than a dozen major waterfalls, including some you can drive to. Grotto, Laurel, Abrams, and Rainbow falls are among the most popular. Why so many waterfalls? Thank the park's high elevation and ample rainfall. Abrams Falls is only 20 feet tall, but its huge volume of water makes for a spectacular sight. Hen Wallow Falls is 90 feet high, while Laurel Falls drops 80 feet. The Ramsey Cascades are the tallest falls in the park, plunging 100 feet over a series of rock outcroppings. Visit Rainbow Falls on a sunny afternoon if you want to see a rainbow form in its mists, or in winter to view beautiful ice formations around the falls.
