Boogerman Loop Details

Named after the North Carolinian settler Robert "Booger" Palmer, this popular trail follows a picturesque creek through iconic Appalachian beech, hemlock, and sassafras forests. Remaining fairly level for the duration of the trail, it passes a number of old stone walls and the remnants of old homesteads now overgrown with saplings and wildflowers. The trail, which follows Cadwell Fork Trail, is often quite wet, but uses a series of 15 footbridges along the way.
