The valley's open fields provide great chances to see whitetail deer, wild turkey, skunks, raccoons, and even elk during the early morning and evening hours. The herd of elk, which were introduced into the area in 2001, is often seen in the morning, and is truly some of the Smoky Mountain's most captivating habitants.
