Abrams Falls Trail Details
At the 4.9-mile mark of the Cades Cove Loop Road lies the trailhead for the Abrams Falls trail. The 5-mile trail begins at the wooden bridge at the end of the parking lot. You'll pass the historic Elijah Oliver Place and then follow Abrams Creek to the waterfall, which was named for a local Cherokee chief. The 20-feet falls have created a pleasant pool where you can swim, or just cool off in the mist coming off the plunging waters. Most people turn for home once they reach the falls, but the trail does continue and connects to the Hannah Mountain Trail and the Hatcher Mountain Trail.
