Kid-Friendly Options Details
First of all, if you are bringing kids to Great Basin, you should help them become a Great Basin Junior Ranger. The checklist of activities necessary for your child to become a Junior Ranger create a fun schedule for the whole family. They will be given a book to fill out with different activity pages as well as a couple different activities they will have to do in the park - like attending a ranger presentation, touring the Lehman Caves or participating in an astronomy event. Upon completion, they will receive a special Great Basin badge and certificate after being sworn in by a park ranger. If you're feeling extra prepared, you can print out the booklet yourself by following [this link](https://www.nps.gov/grba/learn/kidsyouth/upload/GRBA%20Junior%20reduced%20file.pdf). In addition to scenic drives and the cave tours, there are a number of easy hikes that are recommended to do with kids in tow; Sky Islands Forest Trail, Mountain View Nature Trail and the Bristlecone Pine Trail. In addition, if you are looking for some history and a snack, head on over to the Lehman Orchard, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Once you're there, you are free to pick and eat any of the peaches or apricots growing in the orchard.
