Reservations Details
Glacier National Park introduces a vehicle reservation system for the 2024 season to manage visitor access and protect its delicate ecosystems, ensuring that the park remains a refuge of natural beauty and serenity for future generations. This system is a part of the park's efforts to balance the increasing demand for visitation with the need for conservation and sustainable enjoyment of its landscapes. Key Vehicle Reservation Periods and Areas: Going-to-the-Sun Road and North Fork: From May 24 to September 8, vehicle reservations are required for entry between 6 am and 3 pm. Many Glacier: From July 1 to September 8, vehicle reservations are needed for entry between 6 am and 3 pm. Requirements for Entry: To enter the park in a vehicle or on a motorcycle during these specified dates and times, visitors need: A Vehicle Reservation or Service Reservation: This is essential for accessing the designated areas within the park. Park Entrance Fee or Valid Park Pass: Options include Annual, Senior, Military, etc., covering the entrance fees for all passengers in a personal vehicle. Vehicle Reservation Availability: Advance Reservations: A portion of the vehicle reservations will be available 120 days in advance, starting on January 25, 2024, at 8 am MST. These reservations will be released on a daily rolling basis, allowing for planning ahead. Next-Day Reservations: For those looking to visit on short notice, next-day vehicle reservations will be available starting on May 23, 2024, at 7 pm MDT, also on a daily rolling basis. This option caters to more spontaneous visits or those unable to secure an advance reservation. Park Access Outside Reservation Times: The park is accessible 24/7, permitting visitors to enter the vehicle reservation areas before 6 am or after 3 pm without needing a vehicle reservation. This flexibility encourages visits during less congested times, offering a different, perhaps more tranquil, experience of the park’s wonders. Exceptions for Booked Activities: Visitors who have booked lodging, camping, or commercial activities (like boat tours and horseback rides) within the reservation-required areas can use their service reservation proof as an entry pass during the reservation times. This ensures that those with confirmed activities can enjoy their experiences without the need for an additional vehicle reservation.
