Red Rock Point Details
Deep burnt-red rocks contrast against icy glacial turquoise waters at Red Rock Point. A short walk from Going-to-the-Sun Road takes you to where McDonald Creek makes its way through red mudstone. The bright red and coral colors against the clear vibrant water makes for an otherworldly scene — great for photo ops. Like so many stops in Glacier National Park, you just need to look around for amazing mountain views, but here you'll also notice avalanche chutes on the mountainside, where snow roars down the mountains in the winter when the road is closed. In the summer, when avalanche danger doesn't exist, it's a great spot to stretch your legs on the drive to Logan Pass.
