Iceberg Lake Trail Details
This popular trail climbs to a high mountain cirque that is home to Iceberg Lake. The turquoise lake is surrounded by steep mountain faces and is often frozen into early summer. Even late in the summer you might find large chunks of ice still floating in the water (hence the lake's name). Look for wildlife: The large cliff faces are prime mountain goat habitat and the area is known for its bear population. Carry bear spray, make noise and travel in groups. Access is via the Iceberg-Ptarmigan Trailhead at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn Complex.
