Redrock Falls Trail Details
The first stop on this hike should be Fishercap Lake. You'll deviate less than 100 yards to reach the shore of this stunning lake surrounded by mountains. You might even see a moose in the area. You'll continue hiking through a stretch of aspens, which are especially beautiful in the fall when the leaf colors change. Most of this hike is through the forest, but you will also pass patches of huckleberries and thimbleberries, so make sure to create noise so you don't startle a bear. Redrock Lake is less than 2 miles from the trailhead and offers views of Mt. Grinnell and Swiftcurrent Glacier. On the opposite side of the lake below Mt. Grinnell is Redrock Falls. Redrock Falls is a series of cascades and there are various vantage points you can scramble to for prime viewing and beautiful photographs. From the main trail you can continue for a short distance to earn a view of the highest falls in the series. This flat hike is great for families. Bears are known to frequent this area so make sure you carry bear spray, make noise and travel in a group. Access is via the Swiftcurrent Pass Trailhead.
