Bird Woman Falls Details
Tumbling almost 500-feet down Mt. Oberlin, and visible up close from a pull-out on Going-to-the-Sun Road, Bird Woman Falls is perhaps Glacier's most iconic waterfall. Fed by snowfields on Mt. Oberlin, water streaming down the mountain face is visible for about two miles along Going-to-the-Sun Road. The best place to stop to photograph the falls is a pull-out across from the Weeping Wall, where you can take in more of the mountainside as well as the wildflowers that often bloom in this area. Drive up the road a bit more and you'll be able to get out of your car and stand near the waterfall, although you won't be able to touch it while staying on marked paths. Be careful driving through this area, as it's a popular spot for people to cross the road for a closer glimpse of the falls.
