Mountain goats, with their ability to navigate the high, steep terrain of massive mountains, are a symbol of Glacier National Park. And if you stop at Oberlin Bend there's a good chance you'll spot one. Located 18.4 miles from St. Mary and 31.7 miles from West Glacier on Going-to-the-Sun Road, the Oberlin Bend pull-out offers incredible views of the surrounding mountains. A short walk on a boardwalk takes you to a viewing spot where you can watch the road wind up the hanging valley below. Bring your binoculars and camera. It's a perfect place to scope the sides of Mount Oberlin for mountain goats, which are known to frequent the area.
