Top Events Details
Every fall park rangers host the Ghosts of Voyageurs event. This one and a half hour group hike takes place at night, by the light of lanterns. Rangers act out scenes from the history of the region and visitors get to listen to stories and laugh as you immerse yourself in the ghosts of the original inhabitants of this land. This is the only event that takes place in the park, though the surrounding communities host a number of events that park visitors are welcome to attend. The town of International Falls hosts Icebox Days, a celebration of Minnesota's famously cold winters including a "Freeze your Gizzard Blizzard Run," barbeque, snow sculptures and more. In July you can celebrate Peace Border Days, a joint celebration between Fort Frances, Canada and International Falls, Minnesota. The Rainier Summer Festival takes place in August: music, sailing, dog parades, beer gardens and pancake breakfasts for all!
