Kid-friendly Options Details
Kids can opt to participate in the park's Junior Ranger program. Pick up a free activity booklet and complete all the pages to receive a Junior Ranger sticker or patch. The Dark Junior Ranger program allows kids to explore the nighttime landscape of the park, including star gazing and learning about light pollution (for kids age five-12). The Garden Explorer program (for kids age seven and older) introduces visitors to the plant and tree life in the park. Kids can also pick up a free Discovery Pack from any visitor center, and use the materials inside to help them explore the park, including plant and animal guides, pH strips to test the pH of the lakewater and a journal and sketchbook to take notes on the things you find along your journey.
