Amik Tour Boat Kettle Falls Cruise Details
During the highs summer season, from June 19 through September 22, the Amik tour boat leads Kettle Falls Cruise trips. These trips depart from the dock next to the Kebtogama Visitor Center and travel to the historic Kettle Falls Hotel, where you disembark the boat and spend two hours lunching, picnicking or exploring. Kettle Falls served as a hub for construction workers, lumberjacks, fishermen and fur trappers upon its opening in 1910. In 1918, Robert Williams bought the hotel and began the transition to a slightly fancier tourist destination. Today, the tradition of hearty food and warm atmosphere continues. The parks service renovated the hotel in 1987, and you can still stay here for the night or just stop by to enjoy a meal. Taking a tour boat is the only way to get to the hotel, unless you take your own boat or charter an air taxi. The tour is available from June 19 to August 19 on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays. From August 23 to September 22 the tour is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The boat departs at 10:00 am and returns to the Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center at 3:30 pm.
