Rock Harbor Lighthouse Details
This currently abandoned lighthouse was only operational for eight years sporadically between 1856 and 1879, but as the first lighthouse constructed on Isle Royale, it has become a wonderful place to learn about the history of the area and do some sightseeing from the top. Located on the same bit of island as the Edisen Fishery, it is likewise difficult to reach. Similar to the fishery, you need to take a boat out and the boats run on Thursdays and Saturdays. For more specific information about boat times and availability during your visit, check out the Rock Harbor Visitor Center.
