Ranger-Led Programs Details

One of the best ways to really get to know the park is through a ranger-led program, and Isle Royale National Park has plenty of them during the season. If you travel to the park via the Ranger III, you'll experience a ranger-led program on board wherein the rangers will discuss the natural and cultural history of Isle Royale. In the Rock Harbor area, join a park ranger for Island Connections (most nights in July and August, with a limited schedule in June and September) for an in-depth look into the islands natural and cultural history. A leisurely afternoon hike with a park ranger is what you'll find with Rock Harbor Reflections. In the Windigo area, you'll also find the Island Connections program, as well as West End Wanderers (most afternoons, July and August), during which you'll join a ranger along the trail and discover the areas special places. And Windigo Whispers (most afternoons, July and August) again features stories of the islands natural and cultural history. Be sure and check with the visitor center before your visit for specific times for each of these programs.
