Pilgrim Heights Details
You have a choice of two self-guided trails for exploring Pilgrim Heights. The Small's Swamp Trail leads to a typical kettle-hole pond formed by melted glacier water, as well as the remnants of an old farmstead. Look for grapes, lilacs, plum and apple trees marking the site of the farmhouse's old dooryard. The Pilgrim Spring trail traces the path that the Pilgrims took in search of water in 1620. Both trails are easy strolls through Pitch Pine forest, and you'll enjoy views of the meadows and ocean below along the way.
