Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail Details

Start from the Marconi Station for this 1.25-mile walk through a seaside Atlantic White Cedar Swamp, a fragile ecosystem protected from the ravages of wind and salt water by the cliffs of Marconi Beach. You'll pass through a forest of stunted oaks and pines before returning on the historic Wireless Road -- really just a path through the sand. The swamp portion of the trail is on boardwalk, but there are some steep stairs and a quarter-mile of walking through sand, so allow about an hour to complete the loop. There are seasonal restrooms at the Marconi Station parking lot where the trail begins.
