The Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve is just such a location offering visitors beautifully preserved views and unique habitat to discover. Open year-round to the public, hiking is most popular here in summer with paths ranging from moderate to easy. Cross country skiers and snowshoers will delight in the scenic winter landscape of Maine's southern coastal area too.
