The Carson Trail is one of the few areas where visitors can view and experience a large salt marsh that was able to take root and turn into a meadow. While most are small secluded spots, the mile-long trail here runs past a vast stretch where the wildlife that thrives in this unique habitat cluster. Bird watchers will take particular delight here as waterbirds, such as the Great Blue Heron, strut about stalking fish and watching as frogs and turtles jump away from the shore.
