A 3.2-mile moderate out-and-back hike. The name of Low Aziscohos Mountain is derived from the Abenaki language meaning "small pine trees." Many landmarks in the area encompass this name in some way, and a hike here may give hints as to why. The open and rocky summit and weathering do appear to stunt the tree growth to take on a more horizontal direction. While the mountain does have two peaks of about the same height, only one offers views of the surrounding landscape, making it the most popular. Water also crosses the trails here in several places, so prepare for possible slippery slopes.
