Sentinel Mountain Trail Details
The summit of Sentinel Mountain offers expansive views of Doubletop, O-J-I, Barren, The Owl, and the entire west side of Katahdin. The trail begins at the SW corner of Kidney Pond, at the trail junction, gradually ascending to a hardwood ridge. At 1.6 miles, the trail will climb and parallel a small brook on the left. Cross the branch of the main brook and recognize that this is the last water on the trail. At 2.2 miles the trail turns sharp right and continues the ascent. The trail then forks, with a loop trail around the entire summit of Sentinel Mountain.
