Reservations Details
Baxter State Park offers two types of reservations: Camping: There are two different procedures in place to reserve a campsite, lean-to, bunkhouse or cabin. In general winter reservation can begin in November and must be requested at least seven days before your camping date. Summer reservations work on a rolling reservation system. Both reservation procedures are explained in detail below. The summer camping season runs from May 15 to Oct. 15, and the winter camping season runs from December 1 to March 31. Day Use Parking Reservation is not needed when making a Camping Reservation. Parking: The Day Use Parking Reservation (DUPR) system is meant to assist Park visitors who wish to hike Katahdin by providing the assurance of access to the trailhead. This system is in place for the summer season and to assist only those planning a day hike to Katahdin.
