Helon Taylor Trail Details

This trail is named after the former supervisor of Baxter State Park. It provides a short but challenging ascent to Pamola Peak. It is a very exposed trail and should not be used in inclement weather. From Roaring Brook Campground, the trail begins approximately 0.4 miles down the Chimney Pond Trail. The trail starts out on a slow uneventful ascent, crossing over a stream (your last water source), then gradually becomes steeper as Keeper Ridge begins with boulders and more precarious footing. After reaching Keep Ridge the views are quite amazing as you approach Pamola Peak.
