Ocean Path Details
Ocean Path gives visitors the best access to the wild Acadian shores and some of the Park's most famous sights. The easy walk follows a gravel path along the eastern shores of Mt. Desert Island, from the small, sheltered Sand Beach, to the roaring waves at Thunder Hole, to the 110-foot high Otter Cliff and the stunning panoramic ocean views from Otter Point. The first half of the trail parallels the Park Loop Road, but the second allows for more seclusion from the road. Trailhead: Upper parking lot at Sand Beach.
