Hadlock Brook (Parkman Mountain) Details
Trail Type: Easy Distance: 3.8 miles This pretty, gentle trail explores the slopes of Parkman Mountain, passing some of Acadia's renowned bridges along the way. Departing from the Parkman Mountain parking lot, this trail follows the carriage road, bearing left at Post 13, and winding through the tall pines across a gentle incline, occasionally offering picturesque vistas. Leveling off after the right at Post 12, the trail crosses the Parkman Mountain Trail, and offers stunning views of Upper Hadlock Pond and Western Way. The trail continues past two of the Park's historic bridges, Deer Brook Bridge and the Waterfall Bridge, both build in the late 1920s. Heading right at Posts 19 and 18, the trail narrows and begins to follow the eastern side of Upper Hadlock Pond, passing Hadlock Brook Bridge, and beginning a gentle incline to the end of the loop. A left at Post 13 returns the trail to the carriage road gates near the parking lot. Interconnecting Trails: Giant Slide Loop/Post 13, and Amphitheater Loop/Post 19.
