Champlain Mountain Details
There are two main trailheads that provide access to the 1,058-foot summit of Champlain Mountain: the Champlain North Ridge Trail (formally known as the Bear Brook Trail) and the Champlain South Ridge Trail. Both are popular hiking routes, although the latter is a bit easier. Hikers on the Champlain North Ridge Trail will traverse exposed, pine-studded slopes and take in amazing views from Frenchman Bay to Great Head. The South Ridge Trail leads up a smooth, but steep, pink granite ledge to Champlain's summit, meandering in and out of pitch-pine forests and clumps of wild blueberry bushes.
