Anvil Trail Details
Anvil, East, and Schoodic Head Trail all converge on top of Schoodic Head, which provides the best views on the Schoodic Peninsula. Anvil Trail is the longest hike on the peninsula, though at only 2.2 miles out-and-back, it's still quite manageable. Access for this trail is just north of the Blueberry Hill parking lot. The trail climbs gradually to the top of Schoodic Head where you'll be surrounded by a matural evergreen forest studded with birch trees, spruce trees, and boulders. A little over ¼ mile from the trailhead, watch for a sign on the left for a short side trail to "The Anvil," an overlook for Schoodic Point. After returning to the main trail, you'll top out on Schoodic Head's granite ridge. Distance is 1.1 miles one-way, 2.2 miles round-trip.
