The Trog Tour Details
This kids-only (ages 8-12) tour explores the park's surface and subsurface, with a focus on how they are interconnected. Parents and guardians are required to attend the first and last 30 minutes of the tour to help children put on the included caving equipment (hard hat, headlamp, coveralls, and pads). Once suited up, the group begins with a hike on the park's surface before plunging underground via the historic entrance. Sturdy, athletic-style, closed-toe shoes are required, and visitors are advised to bring an extra pair of shoes or sandals for use while cleaning the caving shoes at the end of the tour. The tour will cover around a mile and a half, and takes almost three hours. There are a total of 200 stairs, with sections of crawling and scrambling, giving this tour a moderate difficulty rating. This tour costs $16 per child. All tours depart from the park visitor center.
