Kid Friendly Options Details

Mammoth Cave is a world of wonder and mystery to visitors of all ages, especially kids. There are several cave tours geared specifically to children. The Trog Tour is designed for kids 8 to 10 years old -- no parents allowed! Led by two park rangers, kids get an aboveground and underground look at the cave. The Introduction to Caving Tour is for children 10 and up, and their parents. The whole family can get in on this one as you explore, climb, and even crawl through parts of the cave. Several free ranger-led programs are also designed for children, including the Nature Tracks for Kids. Check the seasonal schedule to find out exactly what days and times this program is offered. Kids can also pick up a Junior Ranger booklet, attend seasonal programs, earn "bat points," and receive a Junior Ranger badge and certificate. The new Junior Ranger World Heritage Program also is available; ask at the visitor center for details.
