Engine No. 4 Trail Details
Starting at the Mammoth Cave Hotel parking lot and leading to the Cavers' Camp store, this trail takes you past Engine No. 4, a steam engine historically used on the nine-mile Mammoth Cave Railroad. Purchased in the 1870s, it had been used previously on street railways in Memphis and Nashville. The Dinkey Train, as it was called, ran on the Mammoth Cave Railroad from 1886 until 1929. Visit the engine to learn more about the railroad's history.
