Big Hollow Trail Details
The Big Hollow Trail consists of a north and south loop, connected by almost a mile of trail. In total, the whole figure-eight-shaped trail is nine miles long, with access at the Big Hollow Trailhead. It winds past gorgeous rock outcroppings and babbling streams. A great option for both beginner and experienced mountain bikers, the trail was designed for the entire family with subtle grades and an open corridor, but also includes a few more challenging alternate lines for adventure-seekers. The north loop is the less technical path: it is singletrack with easy-to-moderate climbing. The south loop offers more variation for intermediate and advanced riders. Passing can be difficult in narrow areas; hikers must always yield to cyclists, and downhill cyclists must yield to uphill riders. The Southwest Kentucky Mountain Bike Association maintains this trail.
