Sal Hollow Trail Details
The Sal Hollow Trail starts at the Maple Springs Trailhead and stretches for 8.6 miles to the Buffalo Creek Trail. There are several great options for making a loop hike using the Sal Hollow Trail in conjunction with the Turnhole Bend, Buffalo Creek, and Dry Prong trails. For a short backpacking trip, you can use Sal Hollow for all or part of your route. About 7.1 miles from the trail's start, you will reach the Sal Hollow Campsite Trail, and by using other connecting trails you can access other backcountry sites, as well. Remember, horses have the right of way and must stay on trails at all times. Hikers should exercise caution and communicate with riders when passing horses in narrow areas.
