Cycling Details
Illinois is an incredibly bike-friendly region, with an impressive network of trails going through cities, small-towns, and even the most untouched, rural parts of the state. Thanks to the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (which builds multi-use trails over unused railway tracks), approximately 1,000 miles of cycling trails travel along some of the most historic and scenic routes in the state. More adventurous cyclists will also have their pick amongst numerous rugged mountain biking trails, especially in the south. You will be amazed at how much of Illinois you can see on just two wheels.
