The park's main cooperating partner is the [Hawaii Pacific Parks Association](http://www.hawaiipacificparks.org/). This non-profit works in partnership with the NPS in both Hawaii and American Samoa, and proceeds from the park stores in the visitor centers support education, research projects and cultural activities within the parks, as well as park publications. The association operates three stores within the park at Park Headquarters, Haleakala Visitor Center and Kipahulu Visitor Center. The [Friends of Haleakala National Park](http://www.fhnp.org/) support educational, cultural, research, and service activities relating to the park and its ecosystems.
