Skidaway Island State Park is part of the Intracoastal Waterways of Georgia and sits on the Skidaway Narrows. The area has a wetland ecosystem and is filled with salt marshes and maritime forests. The park offers camping surrounded by oaks and Spanish moss and an interpretive center where one can view a large replica of an ancient ground sloth. A part of the center offers binoculars and books for children to learn about birding and migrating species, and boardwalk and viewing tower are open for guests to go and observe the natural wildlife of the park.
