In addition to sites like the Lamar Mounds and Great Temple Mound, visitors to the 702-acre park can explore Native American earthen lodges, the site of an early trading post, and earthworks dating from the Civil War. Hikers will enjoy five miles of trails through forest and alongside the Ocmulgee River and Walnut Creek, as well as a wetland boardwalk.
