Indian Springs State Park Details
As one of the nation's oldest recreation areas, Indian Springs State Park was used long before European settlers by the Creek Indians for its pools containing homeopathic healing powers. The water has a sulfur-like smell and flows from deep underground before bubbling to the surface. Travelers to the area come here to experience the spring pools and the bathhouse that was built during the Great Depression. Besides the rejuvenating springs, the park also has a fully stocked 105-acre lake and a short hiking trail.
