Frequently asked questions about Dry Tortugas National Park. **Are restrooms available?** There are no public restrooms and no running water. Composting toilets are available at the campground. Visitors who arrived by ferry are permitted to use the boat's facilities. **Can I collect coral and artifacts found while snorkeling?** No. In order to protect the park and habitat, please don't touch or remove shells, coral, sand or any other natural or historic objects. **Do cell phones work at the park?** There is no cell service at Dry Tortugas. **What should I bring when visiting for the day?** Bathing suit, camera, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, beach towel, a change of clothing, sturdy walking shoes, snorkeling gear and cash - there's a small gift shop that offers books, postcards and t-shirts. **Is camping allowed at the park?** Camping is allowed only within the campground on Garden Key. Campers must provide all basic necessities to include food, water and shelter as well as a flashlight, a knife, a first aid kit and trash bags. Picnic tables and grills are onsite. Bring self-igniting charcoal and matches.
