In addition to the ranger-guided boat tours and sailing trips available through the visitor center, the park hosts a number of special programs throughout the year, including art openings, programs, and lectures. Family Fun Fest is held the second Sunday of each month, January through May. During the festival, everyone can enjoy three hours of hands-on activities -- both kids and kids-at-heart. Columbus Day weekend is traditionally one of the most popular times of the year to be at the park.
