SCUBA Diving Details
With 95 percent of Biscayne National Park's 173,000 acres underwater, there are plenty of spots to SCUBA dive and peek into the world that thrives under the sea. The park's blend of sea, coral reef, barrier island and estuarine environments combines to create an ideal home for more than 600 species of tropical fish, and some of the only healthy stands of elkhorn coral in North America. More advanced divers may be interested in wall diving or wreck diving along the Maritime Heritage Trail. Dives are suited for beginner to advanced levels. The best diving conditions are usually in June and July, and visibility is 50-100 feet on clear days. Tropic SCUBA, LLC, is authorized to lead drive trips within the park.
