Sprague Lake Details
This 13-acre lake was part of a tourist resort operated by Abner and Alberta Sprague from 1910 to 1940. The Spragues dammed the lake to enlarge it and enhance the fishing experience for guests at their lodge, which stood near the site of today's Sprague Lake parking lot. There's a half-mile, handicapped accessible hiking trail around the lake, which is framed by five mountain peaks of more than 12,000 feet of elevation: Taylor Peak, Otis Peak, Hallett Peak, Flattop Mountain, and Notchtop Mountain.
