Native Americans Details
Native Americans have lived in Rocky Mountain National Park for at least 12,000 years, with the Clovis people among the earliest inhabitants. The Ute tribe resided here for about 6,000 years, followed later by Arapaho migrating from their native Minnesota and, about 400 years ago, the Apache. Experts believe that these tribes mainly hunted here in the warmer months, including running fall game drives aimed at corralling and killing elk.
