Trail Ridge Road traverses Fall River Pass at an elevation of 11,796 feet, and there's a relatively steep 6% grade on both sides of the pass. The Alpine Visitor Center is located in the pass. Next to it you can see the tiny, historic Fall River Pass Ranger Station, a square stone building constructed in 1922: it is not open to the public.
