Camping Details

Rocky Mountain National Park offers five drive-in campgrounds in Moraine Park, Glacier Basin, Aspenglen, Longs Peak, and Timber Creek. Moraine Park, Glacier Basin, and Aspenglen all accept reservations, although Moraine Park is the only one that remains open year-round. The remaining campsites are filled on a first-come first-served basis, and are also open year-round. Group sites are available in Moraine Park and Glacier Basin only. All sites offer access to running water between late-May and early-September. Camping fees are $26/night between May and September, and $14/night during the rest of the year, and most campgrounds enforce a seven-day stay limit on sites. Backcountry camping options boast a number of campsites throughout the park, all of witch require day-of-trip permits obtainable in person from the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center or the Kawuneeche Visitor Center. Visitors interested in backcountry camping should contact the Backcountry/Wilderness Permits office for further directions in obtaining permits and for more information about backcountry rules and restrictions.
