Plan Around Safety
A good stop is not just something to read about. Once it belongs on the day, move into a saved trip and build the route around it.
Use this detail page to confirm that the stop is worth it, then carry that decision into a trip draft while the park context is still fresh.
Safety Details
We've all gotta be careful to preserve this rich archeological treasure for our grandchildren! First, be really careful with matches and campfires, it's a very dry area. Second, all natural and cultural items in the park are protected by federal law, so please leave only footprints and take only photos. It might sound like a ton of rules, but please don't touch or lean on the ancient walls, and please don't enter closed sites. Rodents are a problem, so please no eating inside the cliff dwellings. Park roads are narrow, steep, and winding. Breathe and go slow. Bicyclists, be extra careful, there are very few shoulders! This should go without saying, but just in case, no hunting, no marijuana, and no toy drones. In case of a true emergency, reach out to a park employee, or call 911.
