Mug House Details
Mug House was named for three mugs tied together with yucca rope found hanging inside one of its rooms. To get to Mug House, its a strenuous three mile, two hour round trip hiking tour along an uneven trail that descends one hundred feet and includes steep drop-offs and switchbacks. Youll want to be able to boulder-scramble confidently; this might not be the best choice for little kiddos. Pack at least two liters of water, but no snacks or sugary drinks please! Rodents are a problem here. Your journey to and from Mug House will include a visit to partially-excavated Adobe Cave and beautiful views of Rock Canyon. Mug House Tours are $25 per person and are limited to 10 people; Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 9:30am, May 31 - October 15. Buy tickets at http://www.recreation.gov/ or by calling 1-877-444-6777.
