Between the emerald, green pools, towering crimson canyons, and gently trickling waterfalls, this dreamy lake is an oasis in the middle of Glenwood Canyon. It is formed by travertine deposition of limestone rock which gives the rocks it is layered shape. Because of its unique appearance, it is quite a popular destination for hikers and tourists. If you are planning to make the trek up to the lake, you will need a permit in order to access the 3.2-mile-long trailhead. Although swimming is prohibited, you will still be able to marvel at the contrasting colors and lush garden foliage that makes this lake a stunning natural landmark.
